You Should Get a Criminal History Record If:

• You want to make sure that you have no surprises pop up on your record while we are doing an expungement filing and all the charges are listed and eligible for expungement.
• If considerable time has passed and you simply do not remember all the charges you may have on your record and want to make sure what's on your record in complete.
• Simply to double check and make sure what is on your record.
• If you have had convictions or charges outside the state of New Jersey then please contact us. You may need to get your criminal history from that state or you will need a "National Criminal" background check to see your full criminal history record from all states. This kind of background check is more complicated and thorough. We have agencies we can recommend to you for this type of check.  

You Probably Do Not Need a Criminal History Record If:

• You absolutely know your charges or convictions and there is nothing else on your record.
• You have had only One (1) or Two (2) charges in your life and know this is all you have.
• You want to save the $41.00 filing fee for the background check.

How to get your "New Jersey Criminal History Record" from the

New Jersey State Police

     The Division of State Police, Criminal Information Unit (CIU) provides a fingerprint criminal history background check to anyone who requests a copy of his or her record. The New Jersey State Police use a live scam printing service provided be "Sagem Morpho,Inc." a private company under contract by the State of New Jersey. In order to be fingerprinted for expungement purposes, you must contact "Sagem Morpho,Inc." to schedule a time and place to have your fingerprints recorded at one of their approved sites. the quickest and easiest way to schedule your appointment is through their website at: https://www.bioapplicant.com/nj/Default.aspx or click the on the name above to link you to their website.      You must also fill out "Form NJAPS2", which you can download from the New Jersey State Police website at: http://www.njsp.org/about/serv_chrc.html. Bring the Form and Proper Identification with you to your scheduled appointment.

     The Proper ID must be issued by a Federal, State, County, or Municipal body for identification purposes. It must include your photograph, name, home address and birth date. Acceptable identification includes a valid Driver's License a Passport or a ID issued by New Jersey's or any State's MVC or DMV. The home address you enter on the form should be the same as the home address that is on your identification. Make sure your adress is complete and accurate so that the New Jersey State Police can mail you the results of your criminal history background check. The Fee is "$41.00". You may pay this fee by credit card, electronic debt check or a money order.
